Our Lab investigates the complex molecular landscapes of diabetes, with a specific focus on the mechanisms governing insulin and glucagon secretion. We employ a multidisciplinary approach, integrating high-resolution electrophysiology and advanced live-cell imaging with sophisticated molecular and cellular biological tools. Our research aims to identify novel signaling molecules and decipher how their dysregulation contributes to alpha- and beta-cell dysfunction during the progression from early-stage glucose intolerance to late-stage diabetes. Dr. Xiong Liu accepted the offer. 

He will join the Department of Physiology & Pathophysiology at the University of Manitoba as an assistant professor. The Liu Lab will be open in 02/2027.
